Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo has won the Great North Run half marathon.
Kiplimo showed why he is the half marathon world record holder in a dominant race which he led from the front.
The double Commonwealth champion returns to England to win the Great North Run as he powers to victory over the 21km in 59 minutes and 32 seconds, ahead of Ethiopians Selemon Barega & Kenenisa Bekele.
The world record holder wins the Great North Run in 59:32 ahead of Ethiopians, Selemon Barega who finished second in 1:00:39, and Kenenisa Bekele in third place with 1:01:01.
Olympian Jacob Kiplimo became the first Ugandan to win the Great North Run’s elite men’s race with a time of 59:33.
