KCCA FC 3 – 0 Express FC
KCCA FC beat off-form Express FC to go to the top of the UPL 2022/2023 table with 25 points.
The old arch rivals, KCCA FC and Express FC had not seen a win in the past four meetings and football analysts already imagined this tie would turn into another draw.
KCCA FC started the game quite quick with Allan Okello winning a penalty which was taken by Moses Waiswa to give the hosts an early lead in the second minute. Shaban Mohammed later had a spark with a volley kick which almost produced a goal for the highlight reel.
Express FC looked run in the midfield although KCCA FC was not playing very pleasantly in the first half.
Notably, Coach James Odoch took a radical approach in team selection, benching tbe Katongole and Lumu and starging Ngoobi and Otim in the centreback.
The Wankulukuku based side came into this game with three losses in a row and with Allan Kayiwa their key player unable to make first team due to inadequate match fitness.
Coach Morley Byekwaso’s boys were on point and understood the assignment in the Kampala Derby.
Kankonde also opened his goals scoring account in the 72nd minutes after passing by the Express backline to drive one in the bottom corner.
Charles ‘Neymar’ Lwanga came on for Shaban in the 79th minute and made it three goals a few minutes later with a thunderous strike which I hope makes it to the highlight reel.
KCCA FC is looking comfortable with the wins and with such form, the Kasasiro boys are well poised to take it all.
