KCCA FC gets the better of Maroons FC in the first leg of their Uganda Cup round of 16 encounter

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club today travelled to Maroons FC to play them in the first leg of the Uganda Cup round of 16 stage at the Prisons stadium in Luzira. The match started with KCCA looking to get the better of the Big League side Maroons in order to improve their only chance of winning any silverware this season.

And today two very unusual names appeared on the score sheet for the Kasasiro boys as their inform striker Sadat Anaku blanked today, their defenders Herbert Achai and Hassan Jurua scored the two goals that separated the two sides today. Achai scored the opener in the first quarter of the game in the 15th minute to end the first half 1-0 in favor of them.

After the 15 minutes halftime break, the two teams returned with both sides looking to get something from the game, but it was another defender in Hassan Jurua who doubled KCCA’s lead in the 67th minute with a well taken penalty following a hand ball call inside the box area. With some good defending exhibited by the KCCA backline, they managed to finish the day 2-0 taking two crucial away goals into the return fixture, leaving Maroons with a daunting task to accomplish come the second leg of this tie at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday, 5th May 2021.
