Nepal 160/6 in 19.3 overs
Nepal won by 5 wickets
Having taken a day off, Kenya and Nepal resumed with their third game of the series after Nepal winning the opner of the series and Kenya taking charge of the second match.
Kenya won the toss and elected to bat first against Nepal but lacked a clinical bowling approach to defend their score as they lost their second game of the series.
Collins Obuya (14 runs off 18 balls) and Sukhdeep Singh (8 runs off 12 balls) opened Kenya’s innings but the pair had less to offer as they were dismissed in the power play.
Irfan Karim and Rakep Patel continued to have a good show with the bat forming a solid partnership on the crease as each registered a half century with 55 runs off 47 balls and 73 runs off 43 balls respectively to help Kenya post 156/2 in 20 overs.
In the chase, Nepal had a good start to their innings with Pawan Sarraf (20 runs off 12 balls) and Arjun Saud (35 runs off 31 balls) facing the first balls.
Despite the loss of the opening partnership, Gyanendra Malla and Rohit Paudel ensured Nepal registered its second win of the series with each posting 46 runs off 41 balls and 29 runs off 18 balls respectively, helping Nepal chase down the required score with three balls to spare.
Nepal’s win against Kenya means they now lead the series by 2-1, and both teams will be back in action today, 29th August 2022 in the same playing format.
