Barely a week after the announcement of the Big League 2nd round fixtures, Kigezi Homeboys Football Club has decided to part ways with their coach Mark Twinamatsiko under mutual consent after a run of poor form.

The news of sacking comes after The Gorilla’s 2-1 away defeat to Bull in the Uganda Cup round of 16.

A statement from the club read, “The management of Kigezi Homeboyz football club (KHB FC) and the club Mr. Mark Twinamatsiko have today Thursday May 06, 2021, agreed by mutual consent to end his employment with the club with immediate effect”.

Twinamatsiko will be replaced by the academy coach Denis Tushabe who will be acting as an interim coach. The appointment of Tushabe as the interim coach comes just in less than two days when the club announced his appointment as the academy coach.

Tushabe who is well known as Kapi in the circles of western Uganda had a successful spell at Kigezi FC where he led them to the regional playoffs and he is expected to overturn the club’s fortune in the league.

Twinamatsiko leaves The Gorillas lying second from the bottom in the Rwenzori group after winning only one game in the first round fixtures.
