FT: Kigezi HomeBoyz FC 1 – 3 Kitara FC (Aggregate 5 – 5)

Kitara FC suffered a heavy blow when they lost 4-2 against Kigezi HomeBoyz at home in the first leg of the Uganda Cup round of 32 at Kavumba Recreation ground late last month. They came in this game with a 2 goal deficit and 4 goals conceded at home.

In the game played yesterday at Kabale Municipal Stadium the visitors took an early lead through Agondeze Edson in the 10th minute before the Gorillas’ Dickson Niwamanya leveled the score in the 28th minute.

Half time ended with both teams having scored once but the Pride of Bunyoro was still having a long way to go because of the 4-2 first leg loss which they needed to overturn in the second half of the game.

The pride of Bunyoro came back stronger in the second half and managed to score more two goals courtesy of Mbidde Pius and Agondeze Edson sealing a brace on the match day.

Kitara FC was now level on the aggregate score (5-5) with Kigezi HomeBoyz FC but this was not enough for Kitara because they had conceded more goals at home than their counterpart Kigezi HomeBoyz FC.

Kitara FC had conceded 4 goals at Kavumba recreation ground compared to 3 goals conceded by Kigezi HomeBoyz FC at Kabale Municipal stadium, this meant that Kigezi HomeBoyz progressed to the last 16 on away goals.Kigezi HomeBoyz will play their delayed fixture with BUL FC on Wednesday 5th May in the first leg of the Uganda Cup last 16 in Jinja.
