The Kitgum Queens had one hand on the trophy after the second round circuit of the Northern Region Women’s 10s that took place on 1st May 2021.
Yesterday Saturday 8th May 2021, they played the third and final round of the circuit where they were looking to win to cement their place as the overall winners of the Northern region.
The Queens were crowned champions of the Northern Region Women’s 10s after 3 rounds of rugby tournaments in Kitgum, they were followed by Aduku and Gulu City respectively. The Queens conceded only one try, had all tournament MVPs as well as the majority of the top scorers.
This was the 2nd edition in which they have managed to lift the trophy for the second time in a row. They join Blue Whales and Black Pearls from the central region and Mbale Eagles who were Eastern region winners in play offs from which the overall winner will be chosen.
However that next phase of the tournament is unlikely to take place soon because of time constraints with the Rugby Women’s team having engagements in the Elgon Cup and Rugby Africa tournament that are due in less than 4 weeks time.
