There’s strong confidence in the KIU Titans camp after their win in the friendly against champions city oilers. The Kansanga based team assembled a somewhat weakened team not featuring any of their stars but managed to walk away with a win against seven-time champions City Oilers 73-54.

They began the first quarter ruthlessly with an 18-09 lead at the end of the quarter. The second quarter had them lead 23-09 to go into the long break with a 41-18 lead.

The Oilers managed to put up a fight and win the third quarter 23-15 but it was not enough when they claimed the lead in the final quarter 17-13 to claim the win on 73-54 at KIU courts in Kansanga.

This is the third preseason game for KIU Titans after they won their first against Nam Blazers 64-55 on Friday. They went on to lose their second game 70-73 against JKL Dolphins on Saturday.

James Okello had 11 points, new signing Caesar Kizito added eight points while Elvis Mutebi scored 14 points for the Titans. Henry Okoth added 13 with Obleng Peter making 11 for the Oilers.

These are good preparations for the season starting on 17/04/2021.
