KCCA Leopards 61-70 Angels
KIU Titans edged Power 68-59 at Lugogo to tip off their Uganda National Basketball League Playoffs on a positive angle.
Now the Titans remain with an uphill task of winning Game 2 on Sunday inorder to book a semifinals spot after taking a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.
Power took an early narrow win at the break (25-24 ) but then couldn’t match up the Titans pressure
Titans bounced back in the third quarter and held on to win an already exhausted Power.
Isaiah Mabeny Ater (19 points), Okoth Henry (15 points), and Fidel Okoth (11) all bagged double digits for the Titans.
The Kasanga-based team ia aiming for a second date to the National Basketball League finals.
The winner of this series plays the winner of the semifinal match between JKL Dolphins and UCU Canons.
Meanwhile, The women’s showdown was mouth watering with the Angels producing a masterclass against the KCCA Leopards to win game one.
Three games are scheduled on Saturday at the YMCA, including a matchup between the Nam Blazers and the KCCA Panthers
