With relegation pressure beginning to bite the bottom teams, it was not going to be an easy fixture for Busoga United, as they travelled today to Nakisunga Saaza Ground (Mukono) to face Kyetume FC. The first half of the game showed all the best chances going to the home team, with them being awarded a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. But they wasted their chance to carry a 1:0 advantage going into halftime break after missing the penalty.
Kyetume, looking alert because of the pressure to escape playing in the Big League next season, started the second half on a high note and in the 54th minute, Richard Matovu scored the only goal which later decided the game in their favour at full time whistle. With this win they occupy the 14 position with 16 points after 19 games played this season and only 4 points behind their opponents Busoga University who occupy position 13 on the 16 log team table.
It remains to be seen what will happen at the end of the season to Kyetume’s FC but today’s win could be the start of their fight against relegation.
