Luweero United fly high to end Mbarara City FC’s unbeaten run |FUFA Big League

Result: Luweero United 2-1 Mbarara City FC

Mbarara City FC’s unbeaten story is no more after they were beaten 2-1 by Luweero United at Kasana play ground on Thursday 22nd December 2022.

Balyejusa Isaac scored in first half while Musa Mugerwa in the second stanza for the home team and Jammie Kisitu Nvule had one for the visitors.

The Ankole Lions headed to this game being the only undefeated side this season, won six and drawn four, more so winning their last three matches.

On matchday ten they beat Kitara FC 1-0 at home, Henry Kitegenyi scoring the only goal in the second stanza.

The result means the Mbarara side drop from first to third with 22 points after eleven games, one point bellow leaders Kitara FC and second placed NEC FC who are tied at 23 points.

Luweero United have won three games from the six they have played at home.

Overall it is the fourth win after eleven. They have lost four and drawn three, scored 13 and let in 14.

The Kosovo Boys move up 8th on the FUFA Big League table with 15 points.

Mbarara City FC will return home welcoming Soroti City FC on Thursday 29th December in their next assignment.

On the same day Luweero will make a trip to Hoima City where they visit table leaders Kitara FC.
