Mary Cholhok leads Loughborough Lightning into the netball super league playoffs.

Loughborough Lightning netball club confirmed their top four finish and finally sealed their participation in the playoffs after they defeated London Pulse 35 – 42 in the Vitality Netball superleague thanks to She Cranes goal shooter Mary Cholhok.

The league’s leading goal shooter Mary Cholhok was at her best after scoring 33 goals to make sure of a top four finish in the Vitality Netball Super league this season. Her teammate Ella Clark scored the other 9 goals.

It was a tight game as London Pulse’s young squad defended tirelessly to make sure that Mary Cholhok does not get feeds easily.

After the game, player of the match Sam May said, “Top four was always the aim of the game and the tournament, and I’m really pleased that we were able to achieve that today and against a tough opposition! Pulse really brought it to us!”

The win for Loughborough Lightning confirmed their qualification to the play off semi finals along with Team Bath with four games to spare.

Team Bath Netball club lead the table with 45 points, 3 clear of second placed Loughborough Lightning after round 16 of matches.

Uganda’s Mary Cholhok leads the goal scoring charts with 629 goals scored from 16 games while Malawi’s Joyce Mvula of Manchester thunder lies a distant second with 504 goals scored after a similar number of games played.

The next match for Loughborough Lightning is against Celtic Dragons on 29th May 2021.
