Express FC will on Wednesday make a short trip to Mukono to face Kyetume FC in the Uganda Premier League at Nakisunga Ssaza Grounds.
The Red Eagles are in search for their 7th away victory of the season but are in fine form having picked up three wins in their last four games across all competitions.
When both sides met in the first round of the Uganda Premier League the game ended in a goalless draw at Wankulukuku.
Express FC are currently in the third position with 46 points from 22 games behind Vipers SC with a difference of 3 points.
Kyetume FC are still fighting a relegation battle in the 14th position with 20 points from 22 games behind Busoga United FC who have 26 points from 23 games.
“We played Express vs Police we managed to get 3 points and 2 goals from home and we still have to chase for the trophy…, as tomorrow we go to Kyetume we really respect them and we really want a win, everyone is organized and ready to go for that game, the Coaches are ready plus the players, I believe that as we go we have the points, Kyetume we respect them but it won’t stop us to kick them and be on the race again”, said the Express FC winger Ssenyondo Frank during the pre-match interview. He also added that if given a chance he will try his level best to help his team.
Muzamiru Mutyaba is unavailable due to a fever
Sadiq Ssekyembe returns from suspension and is available for selection.
Abel Etrude and Arthur Kiggundu are both available but subject to late fitness tests.
Arthur Kigundu was in action as his last game so far this season for Express against Busoga United at Wankulukuku two months ago.
Long term absentee George Senkaaba remains sidelined.
The team has no suspensions but just a few injuries ahead of tomorrow’s encounter.
This will be the third meeting in the league and fifth overall across all competitions.
The Red Eagles have won one league meeting and drew the other. The second league meeting last season was not played after the league was stopped with five games to be played due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Both sides met in the domestic cup and Express FC eliminated the hosts 3-2 on Aggregate over two legs.
