Mbarara City FC 3-1 Kyetume FC
Remains the only unbeaten team in the FUFA Big League after they recorded a 3-1 home victory over Kyetume FC on Thursday 8th of December.
Striker Henry Kitegenyi broke the deadlocks after twelve minutes from Simon Nduga’s cross then completed his brace at the 70th minute mark.
His double against Kyetume FC took him to nine goals from nine games hence the third league top scorer behind Kitara Fc’s Patrick Henry Kaddu (10) and Omedi Denis from Booma FC (11).
Attacking midfielder Jamil Kisitu Nvule scored the other goal for the Ankole Lions while was his first since joining them from Brighters FC in the 2022 summer transfer window.
Tje Slaughters (Kyetume FC) pulled one from the penalty by Henry Orom.
This was Mbarara City FC’s fifth win from nine games second on the table with 19 points, one below leaders Kitara FC who thumped Ndejje University FC 5-1 at Kigaya play ground in Hoima City.
The other four have been draws against Police Fc, Calvary Fc, Jinja North United FC and NEC FC.
Kyetume FC dropped to the relegation zone (14th) remaining at eight points after nine games.
They have managed two win in the season sofar, drawn two and suffered five defeats.
The Mukono based side next assignment is at home Nakisunga ssaza ground welcoming Jinja North United FC on Thursday 15th of December.
Mbarara City FC will again be at home hosting leaders Kitara FC on Wednesday 14th December.
