After showcasing expert rallying skills that kept spectators entertained from start to finish, Captain Mike Mukula’s son, Mike Mukula Jr., won the third round of MOSAC Autocross Championship in Gomba on Sunday.
The third round of the National Autocross Championship was held on Sunday 28th August at Gomba Gorilla Raceway, Gomba district.
This victory cemented his dominance over the sport.
Mike Mukula Jnr was navigated by Edward Kiyinji posted 05:59 in the first heat and 05:53 in the second heat with a total time of 11:52, with second-placed Mark Lubega/Don Mbabazi posting 12:00, while third-placed Kiyimba Godfrey posted 12:56.
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Mike Mukula Jr. has established his involvement in the motor rallying sport. not only as a competitor but also as a front-runner who is fresh to the rally circuit but making waves.
Mike put on a comparable performance in June when he won the second round of the Mzuri-Africa Mukono Autocross Competition.
Mike told Uganda Motorsport TV that he is still studying the tracks and the ‘big boys’, but with such performances so soon after starting the sport, he is quickly catching up to them.
The brothers, Ali Ahmed Ashraf and Mohamed Anees made their impressive debut as they finished 7th clocking 14:23.
Ali Ahmed Ashraf is the FIA Rallystar challenge 2022 finalist and Uganda’s 2008 champion Dr. Mohammed Ashiraf’s son.
