Vipers SC are in the market for a new coach after parting ways with their former head coach Fred Kajoba. The former Venoms tactician resigned over a month ago after being allegedly asked by the club chairman Lawrence Mulindwa to choose between Vipers and the national side. But now rumour has it that former KCCA tactician Mr. Mike Mutebi is on the brink of sealing a three year deal with the Venoms.
According to sources close to the club, it is reported that the gaffer has almost completed the deal with the Venoms. We understand that they are focusing their attention on recruiting a local coach this time as over the years they have had difficulties with sustaining and integrating the foreign coaches at the club.
Kitende is a tough place to be, but Mike Mutebi has had a great deal of success with KCCA and so he will fit right in with the high flying Venoms. However, skeptics are wondering how he will fare at his new club and will his relationship with tycoon Mulindwa last? Mulindwa is known to be a no nonsense, result oriented boss, impatient with poor performances and sometimes interferes with team selections.
But if all we hear is true, we would like to wish Mike Mutebi well in his next destination because he deserves it, and for sure the league does miss his tactical skills.
