KIU Titans are now gelling as a unit and sharing the ball well between defense and attack unlike their disjointed play in earlier games like the defeat to JKL.

On Saturday, they defeated Namuwongo based Blazers 78-68 in a show that was majorly dominated by the great display of teamwork.

Stanley Mugerwa and Kasinde Francis were out because of malaria while Muge is also out with injury. However the team managed to give support to Ariel Okal and Stephen Oryen to put rebound Nam Blazers.

Titans yet again started strongly at home to win the first quarter 19-10, underlying Nam Blazers persisting issue of slow starts to games.

The blazers however stepped up in the 2nd quarter and cut the deficit to 4 (26-30).

Faisal Aden and Dennis Balungu had back to back 3 pointers to take Titans into a lead in the 3rd quarter.

Faisal Aden shot 4 of 7 from the D and Balungu added 2 of 7 with Henry Okoth contributing 2 of 4.

Aden scored 20 points which was a game high, followed by Okello who had a game high 18 rebounds and 18 points. Balungu chipped in with 14 points.

Paul Odong came off the bench and ended the day with 16 points. Chris Omany, David Deng, and Azolibe had 15,13 and 12 respectively.

The loss is Nam Blazers third of the season as they hope to avoid any more hiccups as the season draws to the end.

Nam blazers who started the season with intent to challenge City Oilers have it all to do now to correct aspects that are lacking in their game in a league that has proved tougher than they thought.

Final result Nam Blazers 68-78.
