On Friday the 9th of September 2022, It was a great evening for the unshakable JKL Lady Dolphins as they tipped off their title defense with a win in game one of the semi-finals of the 2022 playoffs.
The unbeaten Lady Dolphins came over the KCCA Leopards 57-37 to win game one at Lugogo indoor stadium.
The defending champions who are yet to see defeat this season continued to show that they are head and shoulders above their competition.
The Lady Dolphins showed their intentions clear in the first quarter as it ended with a 21-12 lead at the expense of the KCCA Leopards.
This was attributed to Taudencia Oluoch who was very efficient, and effective with outstanding performance as she scored 18 points throughout the game.
Their lead continually stretched as sharpshooter Hope Akello netted 11 points and made 15 rebounds as Brenda Ekone added 9 points.
The JKL Lady Dolphins’ s leading scorers Flavia, Evelyn Nakiyingi, Stella Nikuze, and Stella Oyella among others also contributed a lot to the game.
Despite the fact that the KCCA Leopards had a quick start, they had no answer in the second, third and fourth quarters as the JKL lady Dolphins giants were unstoppable.
KCCA Leopards’ top scorer Ruth Letaru struggled for their club as she had 7 points by halftime of the game.
Captain Angella Namirimu, a three-point gun shooter, just scored 3 points at the start of the game.
Nevertheless, KCCA’s Angella also contributed a lot as she made drives to doge the biting JKL Lady Dolphins giants.
KCCA Leopards’ other players that contributed to the games include; Susan Rebecca Aanyu, Ruth Atuheire, Becky Longom, Martha Soigi, and Catherine Haruri among others.
The two sides return for game two on Sunday as the two-time defending champions seek a place in the finals.
Game two will be held on Sunday, the 11th of September 2022 at YMCA Wandegeya Stadium.
