Nemostars were denied a chance to make their first ever semi final appearance in the club’s history by North African giants Swehly from Libya. The Libyans won all the 3 sets.
The Libyans dominated right from the first set winning 25-19. The Ugandans came back in the second set with a hope of a more improved performance but the Libyans were in for a collateral damage winning the set 25-14. The final set was no different as the Libyans completed their volleyball lectures with a 25-19 third set win.
It has been a difficult tournament for Nemostars with financial difficulties playing a role throughout the course of the tournament. The team was still looking for facilitation from well wishers by the time they played their quarterfinal match.
Nemostars will now shift their sight to the battle for 5th position, in their fight to better their best position of 6th from the previous tournament.
Meanwhile the Libyans will be making their fifth consecutive semi final appearance at the tournament where they have never gone past that stage. They will be facing Zamalek on Sunday who will be appearing in the semi finals for the first time since 2012 after defeating Kenya Ports Authority by 3 sets to 1.
