The Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) Netball finals concluded on Sunday afternoon, the 21st of August.
There was a stiff Netball competition on the court between St. Mary’s Kitende and St . Noa Girls School at St. Katherine Secondary School.
It was a pleasure as St. Mary’s Secondary School Kitende defended the USSSA Netball title they won a trophy.
St. Mary’s Kitende defeated their rival St.Noa Girls’ by only a one-goal difference as it ended 18-17 goals.
Before the Champions entered into the final game, the Executive Director and the HeadMaster of St. Mary’s Kitende had a word with the girls.
‘’Respect them, but don’t fear them, let’s remain focused and stick to our winning formula.’’ Said Mr. Ssembatya Jimmy the Head Master.
In the semi-finals, St. Mary’s Kitende beat Madina Islamic School 27-15 to advance to the finals while St.Noa Girls humbled the other USSSA stars, Buddo Secondary School 28-20 goals.
Meanwhile, St.Noa Girls, Buddo S.S, Madina Islamic, and Kawanda SS settled for second, third, fourth, and fourth place in that order.
During the semi-finals, the USSSA Netball record Champions St. Mary’s Secondary School Kitende edged Madina Islamic School 27-15 to progress to the finals.
In March 2022, St. Mary’s Kitende also won the National Novices Netball Championship trophy that was played at Kawempe Muslim Secondary School having disciplined the St.Noa Girls 22-18.
In 2019, these two rivals still competed up to the finals during the National Rally Netball Championship as St. Mary’s Kitende humbled St.Noa Girl’s School 24-20 goals.
Sunday, the 21st started with the remaining sports disciplines at Dr.Obote Boroboro Secondary School.
Some of the sports disciplines that were completed today the 21st of August include Athletics finals, football (boys), Handball (Girls & boys), and Dance Sport I
The USSA Ball games II climaxed with awards on Sunday the 21st at Dr. Obote Boroboro Secondary School in Lira, Northern part of Uganda.
