The Uganda premier league returns tomorrow Friday with the Venoms looking to go 3 points clear on top of the league, when they host Express FC.

The league leaders have only dropped 2 points out of a possible 30 at home during this campaign, and tomorrow they will be looking to take advantage of the Red Eagles’ struggles and bag all the 3 points.  Express’s last win at Vipers came in 2016 when they won 1 : 0 at Nakivubo stadium thanks to Derrick Tekkwo’s solo goal, and going into this game the Reds will need to be very clinical if they are to leverage something from their clash tomorrow.

Ever since the start of the second half of the season, Express have won only one  of their previous four outings and a defeat at Kitende tomorrow will end their title hopes as they will be 9 point behind leaders Vipers SC.

After their goalless draw at Wakiso Giants on Tuesday, the venoms will be looking to bounce back and given their home form this season, Express FC could be up to their neck tomorrow trying to nullify the Venom’s threat.

Team news; Vipers’ Bashir Asiku and Muhammad Shaban are still out serving a ban due to disciplinary issues and will be unavailable for selection.

For Express FC, Godfrey Lwesibawa is back from suspension and available for selection after he missed the defeat at Bright Stars due to accumulation of bookings. And George Senkaaba, Arthur Kiggundu and Abel Eturude are still out due to injuries.

Vipers have a number of key players to wary the Red Eagles especially going forward.

Express FC will need to keep an eye on Yunus Sentamu and Caesar Mazonki as they will be asking questions from time to time as they seek victory.  In-form Eric Kambale and reliable Godfrey Lwesibawa will have to work like a horse if the Red Eagles are to stand any chance against the venoms at their home ground.

Other Friday’s fixtures;

In yet another fixture, Kyetume FC will be looking to pick up the maximum 3 points at home to Wakiso Giants as they fight to get out of the relegation zone.
