Struggling BUL today hosted Onduparaka at the Kyabazinga stadium, Bugembe looking to end a six-match winless run in the league. The two teams face off in the early kick off match in the Uganda premier league at 3PM.
Alex Isabirye’s men started the first half with a boom after going in front as early as the 15th minute through Ojok deogracious. BUL who are just four points above safety were looking for the maximum points to stay away from the relegation mix as the season drew to a close, and with this at the back of their minds they needed to double their lead in the first period.
It was Joseph Ssemujju who added their advantage to 2:0 through a well taken penalty in the 45+2 minutes before halftime whistle was blown in Bugembe.
In the second period, Bul were oncourse again on point as they kept putting much pressure on the Caterpillars boys who were facing an uphill task to come back into the game. But as the clock kept on ticking in Bugembe, the caterpillar boy’s task of staging a comeback was getting very small with every passing seconds.
To make matters worse, Simon Oketch added the third goal in the 76 minute to put the game far away from the visitors. Onduparaka then got one consolation goal in the 83rd minute to make it 3:1, but it wasn’t enough to stop BUL’s claims of the 3 maximum points in the game.
Bul with this win occupies the 11th position with 30 points after 27 games played this season. Whereas Onduparaka remains in the 12th position on 28 points, only 2 above the 13th place Busoga United.
