With the news that his assistant Cranes captain Hassan Wasswa Mawanda had retired from international football, Uganda Cranes captain Denis Onyango was quick to congratulate Wasswa on the achievements during his time as a Cranes’ goalkeeper.

The goalkeeper went ahead to mention that he is next in the queue. The news was an indicator of what lay ahead. It was just a matter of time before an audio went viral in what seemed to be Onyango’s voice.

The Sundowns goalkeeper was threatening not to play for Cranes again if there was still drama in FUFA. This latest development comes after Eng. Moses Magogo went straight and announced his dissatisfaction with the football displayed by the CHAN team.

The goal keeper said “ Magogo’s public criticism of the players who played CHAN was uncalled for’,

Magogo’s latest comments of “shitty football” seems to have an impact on Onyango’s morale to lead the national team. The untimely threat of Onyango quitting national team football comes in a period where Onyango’s long time deputies Salim Jamal and Odongokara are not playing first team football at their parent clubs.
