Philip Wafula trounces incumbent to become new hockey association chairperson

Philip Wafula is now the chairperson-elect of Uganda Hockey Association.  After winning a heavily contested election against incumbent Lydia Dhamuzungu, the man who has been General Secretary of the association will now prepare to take the helm of leadership of the game of hockey in Uganda. 

Wafula, who comes from the same club as Lydia, got nine votes with Lydia collecting only 3 votes.

He will now get ready to take hockey in Uganda to greater heights together with the new executive committee that was voted in at the elective AGM of Uganda Hockey Association held on Saturday at the Uganda Olympic Committee complex in Lugogo.

New UHA executive committee:

Chairperson: Philip Wafula

Vice Chairperson: Joshua Opolot

General Secretary: Stanley Tamale

Treasurer: Kenneth Tamale

Organizing Secretary: Richard Ssemwogerere

Publicity Secretary: Saddam Hussein

Committee Members: Innocent Raskara, Martin Okello and Bridget Baine.
