Day one of the first regional Batball open tournament kicked off yesterday, 10th December 2022 in high gears with a number of young cricketing talents showcasing their cricket abilities to the world at Soroti Cricket Oval.
A number of five games were scheduled for day one of Batball open east edition with only four being played due to bad weather that affected the fourth game of the tournament.
First of its kind in the region, the tournament was played amidst local crowds that included parents of the players with all games being accessed on batball TV.
Batball open east edition is also being used to create awareness against gender based violence in the Teso region, one of the biggest problems in the area which has impacted lively negatively.
The tournament will resume on Sunday 11th December 2022 with three games on the scorecard and the best 14 players from the tournament shall form a team which will progress to the next challenge challenge Batball X which will be played next year.
All will be to play for ij the final games of the day with teams hoping to give their best.
