Uganda’s Jas Mangat/Kamya Joseph – Mitsubishi Evolution came third at the two-day African rally championship in Naivasha Kenya. The Ugandan driver had to withstand the harsh wet and muddy conditions to finally finish in the podium position in the dash of time of 03:03:32.1.

Amaanraj Rai/Oslaj Viljem – ford Fiesta, Ronald Sebuguzi/Anthony Mugambwa – Mitsubishi Evolution 10 and Duncan Mubiru/Musa Nsubuga – Subaru Impreza are among the seven drivers who did not complete the race in the event which claimed a number of top drivers on day 1.

Kenyan driver Carl Tundo/Tim Jessop – Volkswagen Polo won his first African rally championship on his first outing with the Minti Motorsports VW polo R 5. The five-time safari rally winner who led right from the start clocked 02: 34:08.8 hours after winning 6 out of the 11 stages.

The master of muddy conditions led from the start, dominating Saturday’s Soysambu leg winning all the 6 stages to clock a 07:15.1 minute lead over compatriot Tejveer Rai.
