After failing to win in the last four matches in the League, Police FC today hosted Bright Stars Football Club at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. The cop started the day looking a better side compared to the visitor after going 1:0 up only in the 10th minute through midfielder Tony Mawejje who scored his first goal for Police in the 2020/2021 campaign. The two teams finished the first period at 1:0, with Police FC looking the better side at the halftime whistle.

In the second period, the Cops had chances to extend their lead through Brian Mayanja who was later denied by the post after connecting Eric Ssenjobe’s well-crafted cross, only to be saved by Tamale. With everything still left to play for, Bright Stars grew into the game, applying pressure from all angles and their efforts paid in the 89th minute when Janjali’s free-kick travelled and found its way into the back of the net to register an equalizer for his side with only one minute left on the clock until the full-time whistle. Police FC  and Bright stars affairs for this season have all ended in draws, and today’s result puts Bright stars ahead of them in the 5th position on 42 points, whereas Police remain 6th on the standings with 40 points. Next on the card for police FC will be a trip to Onduparaka who need to collect maximum points to stay in the league for next season, whereas Bright stars will turn their gun to Kyetume FC at Kavumba.
