Bright stars needed to win by a three goal margin inorder to overturn the first leg scoreline registered by police FC in the first leg of this round at MTN omondi Stadium, Lugogo. But despite their 1-0 win today courtesy an 80th minute goal from James Angu in the second half, they failed to make it to the quarter finals as they fell 2 goals shy of the scoreline they needed.
Despite their loss in today’s encounter, Police qualified 4-2 on aggregate thanks to their 4-1 first leg results registered at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo. The Cops today exhibited a very quiet encounter as they set their team in a much more defensive formation with the ultimate goal of nullifying the Bright stars attack. This strategy worked for them until there was only 20 minutes remaining on the clock, when Forward James Angu scored the only goal to give his side a 1-0 win in today’s encounter.
They now join KCCA, Wakiso Giants, Express, Vipers and SC Villa who already qualified, in waiting for the last 8 draws.
