With the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship drawing nearer, the Uganda Lacrosse Association (ULA) has confirmed dates for the try outs as a pathway to the tournament.

The tryouts for the senior women national team will be held in Luzira, Nakawa, Lugazi and Kabalagala stretching from 16th June to 27th June 2021.

The first trials will be held at Luzira on 16th June then followed by Nakawa on 19th June. The talent search will proceed to Lugazi on 20th June before winding up the process in Kabalagala on 27th June 2021.

Uganda is the only African team that will take part in the tournament which will be hosted by the United States Of America after neighbours Kenya withdrew from the tournament and were replaced by China.

Uganda along with Argentina, Jamaica, Norway and Puerto Rico will be making their debut at the tournament which will be held at the Towson University in Towson, Maryland.

It should be noted that Uganda became the first African Country to gain full World Lacrosse Membership in November 2020 after the World Lacrosse Board of directors voted unanimously to elevate the Uganda Lacrosse Association (ULA) to full membership, having held associate status since 2011. The implication of full membership means that our national teams are now eligible to win medals at the world lacrosse tournaments.
