The lunch time kickoff in the Uganda Cup round of 16, saw Proline FC host Mbale Heroes at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. The two met last year at this stage in this competition and the men from Kampala emerged victorious in that encounter, and today it was more like what happened last year, except for this year there is a return leg fixture to be played.

Proline FC led the surgeons from Mbale thanks to two first half goals in the 39th minute and 43rd minute that gave them a 2-0 goal advantage going into the break.

After going down 2-0 at halftime, Mbale heroes started the second half period with a much superior ball possession and looked dangerous throughout the entire period. They kept asking questions and in the 79th minute they pulled one back through a well drilled header to put the score line at 2-1.

The surgeons from Mbale, aware of what an away goal means in this encounter, kept pressing proline FC from time to time in search of an equalizer and they almost got it, though they were denied by the brilliant proline FC goalkeeper. Proline managed to finish the day 2-1 and they will have to travel to Mbale municipal stadium for a second leg replay scheduled for next week.
