Proline FC after losing 2:0 to BUL FC in the first leg of the Uganda Cup at MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo last week, travelled to Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe to face BUL FC in the return leg of this fixture. The Men in yellow made the trip expecting to turn around a 2:0 first leg advantage by BUL at MTN Omondi in Lugogo.

With their momentum on high, Proline FC got the opening goal in the 41st minutes through Ivan Ocholit who scored to put his side ahead with only 4 minutes remaining until halftime break. With BUL playing more defensively in the match, the first half ended 1:0 with Proline going for the halftime break the better team.

In the second half, play returned at Kyabazinga Stadium with the two teams having everything to play for in the game. But with BUL FC 2:1 up on aggregate, the Jinja based team defended in-depth to deny Proline FC a second goal that could have taken the game to penalties, and it was 1:0 at full time.

With this result, BUL Football Club became the first club to advance to the semi-finals of the 2021 Uganda Cup. Historically, this is the second time BUL have qualified for the semi-finals of the Uganda Cup, after qualifying in the 2015 season and losing their spot in the final to the eventual winners in SC Villa.

On the other hand Proline despite their 1:0 win today bowed out of the competition thanks to a 2:0 advantage they accorded BUL FC in the first leg at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo. The tie ended 2:1 on aggregate with men in yellow having no choice but to stop here for this year’s competition.

BUL FC now will wait for who they take on by the end of the week, after a job well done. The final of the Uganda Cup this year will be played at the Masindi Municipal Stadium, hosted by Kitara region and Ugsports will bring you all the highlights
