The battle of the midlands between Loughborough lightning and Wasps netball team is one of the most thought about clashes of vitality netball superleague season and Sunday’s encounter was no difference as Uganda’s Cholhok put up a player of the match performance to lift lightning to a league double against the wasps.
Lightening ended the first quarter with 92% of their centre passes being converted to take an early lead of 16 – 7. The wasps came out strongly in the second quarter only to be behind 26 – 21 by half time. Lightning had to rely mainly on a spirited performance from Cholhok to overcome the wasps 52 – 42.
In a very competitive match and strong rivalry, the leagues’ leading shooter Cholhok managed to shoot 43 goals and managed to miss on 6 attempts. Of the 43 only 1 was a penalty and 5 were rebounds and made only two unforced errors.Cholhok leads the score chart with 482 goals out of 12 games played. She will be again in action on Friday 30th April when lightning play Saracens Mavericks
