At King George IV Memorial Stadium Tororo tomorrow, we will see the two bottom teams in MYDA and Kyetume FC clash in a match that is dubbed the “relegation derby”. Malaba Youth Development Association football club will be looking to overcome their 4-0 defeat to Vipers Football Club in game 21 of the Uganda Premier League, and pick up the necessary points against another struggling side in Kyetume FC.
Last week the Flying Eagle lost one of their star strikers in Saleh Hassan due to personal reasons that forced him to terminate his contract with the club in a mutual agreement. But with them being out of the Uganda Cup, MYDA FC need to regroup themselves quickly and start winning games if they are to survive relegation this season. Tomorrow’s home fixture against Kyetume will be one in which they must win if they are to stage that comeback.
Kyetume FC on the other side have registered some big wins recently in the league which have done a lot to up their momentum in fighting to survive relegation this season. Their win against Wakiso Giant and Busoga United gave them the belief that anything is still possible, except for last week’s setback, when they lost 4-2 to Kitara FC in the league. With all the rest that they all have enjoyed without Cup football, they should be able to compete favorably in tomorrow’s encounter.
