In an attempt to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Uganda rugby 7s has to play in Monaco at the Repachage.
The Repachage is a tournament that features 12 Women’s and 10 Men’s teams all in an attempt to take the last two Women’s and one Men’s team places for Olympic Rugby Sevens in Tokyo, which will take place on 26-31 July.
The games will take place at the Stade Louis II stadium in Monaco starting on Friday, 18 June with Zimbabwe vs Mexico followed by Uganda vs Jamaica.
In positive news to the fans, the World Rugby confirmed 5,000 fans will be allowed into the stadium for the second and third day of the tournament.
The Uganda 7 s side will kick off their campaign against Jamaica (18:22 local time/7:22 pm Uganda time) at Stade Louis II on Friday, 18 June, before facing HongKong (10.06 am/11:00 am Uganda time) and France (18:23protocol stop/7:23 pm Uganda time) in further Pool B games on Saturday.
Uganda will play the last Pool B game on Sunday, 20 June against Chile (1:39 pm, 2:39om Uganda time).
The team is in its training campaign that ends on 11th June 2021 before they leave for Monaco on 12th June 2021.
