Kenya’s rugby national men’s 7s team did not disappoint, defeating Scotland 20-10 to advance to the Cup quarterfinals in the final World Sevens Series leg in Los Angeles, the USA in 2022.
Shujaa, who previously defeated England 19–14, scored four tries in part due to captain Nelson Oyoo, Alvin ‘Buffa’ Otieno, Vincent Onyala, and Billy ‘The Kid’ Odhiambo, who scored his 101st try of the Series thus far.
After winning, Kenya came in behind Samoa in Pool D, followed by Scotland and England, who came in last.
Kenya hasn’t advanced to the Cup Quarterfinals since the Dubai second leg, which was played in December 2021.
Kenya’s Cup Quarterfinal opponent will either be Australia or Argentina.
