Relegated Kitara FC today hosted fourth place KCCA in one of the two Uganda Premier League matches that were scheduled for Friday 18th June 2021 at Masindi Municipal Stadium. Kitara FC with nothing to play for started the game by going 1:0 down in the seventh minute thanks to a Sam Ssenyonjo goal. The home team responded 20 minutes later through Vincent Kasoki who made it 1:1 before Nathan Oloro put them ahead to give KCCA a 2:1 lead going into halftime break.
The Kasasiro boys returned for the second period charging like a wounded lion and they increased their attacking threat. With ten minutes into the second half, Andrew Kawooya equalized for the Kasasiro boys to make it 2:2 to both sides. Sam Ssenyonjo who later scored a haul in the game, put KCCA ahead in the 57th minute, before Charles Lwanga added another one from the penalty spot.
Kitara FC after giving away their lead, conceded more KCCA goals through Sam Ssenyonjo in the 66th minute, and 68th minute to end the day 6:2 in favor of his own side.
The Kasasiro boys who were leading comfortably in the second period had their left Denis Iguma sent off in the game and they were reduced to ten men, but Kitara FC had already conceded too many goals to try and stage a comeback in the game. Despite their comfortable win, KCCA FC still remains in the fourth position with 48 points and ten adrift from the table leaders Express FC. The Kasasiro Boys’ next game was slated to be at home against Wakiso Giants on Wednesday 23rd in game week 28, whereas Kitara was supposed to pay a visit to title contenders URA on the same day, but they will all have to wait for the next 42 days.
