Sandra Nambirige, a defender for the She Cranes and Kampala Capital City Authority Netball Club, was chosen as the month of November’s top performer in netball

Netball made its debut in the Fortbet Real Stars monthly awards this year, and Nambirige, who excelled in November on the national team and in the national league, defeated fellow stars Asingo Viola, a tireless defender for Prisons, and Seera Zam, a goal shooter for NIC.

Sandra Nambirige appeared more impressive when her team, KCCA, defeated rival Weyonje Netball Club and ended NIC’s three-year unbeaten streak.

In actuality, KCCA was unbeaten in the month of November and was the team that gave up the fewest goals.

“I am really grateful that have won this award, it’s my first time to win such awards, I was caught by surprise, didn’t know that there are people outside Netball who follow the game to this level.

I thank the organizers, Fortbet Real Stars for thinking about netball and voting me as the best player in November, going to continue working hard.” excited Sandra Nambirige said.

JKL Lady Dolphins forward Brenda Ekone was named the best of 2022 at the end of year Fortebet Real Star Awards.

Ekone was announced as the winner ahead of long distance runner Jacob Kiplimo and Rally driver Ponsiano Lwakataka.

Despite falling short of helping her JKL side retain the Women’s National Basketball League title after game seven loss to UCU, Ekone has had a consistent year.

She has been nominated on five occasions at the Real Stars monthly awards, winning twice in August and September.

Ekone finished as the league’s top scorer with 534 points this concluded season.

Jackson Mayanja Mia Mia, a football legend, won the Life Achievers award at the same ceremony.
