SC Villa has officially confirmed the signing of the former St. Mary’s Kitende left-back Ronani Gasikire on a three-year contract. The youngster is expected to provide healthy competition to the club’s left backs Derick Ndahiro and Andrew Kiwanuka.
Gasikire, also known as Waiswa, is a left-back formerly at the Busiro Ssaza team in the Airtel Buganda Masaza Cup.
After his unveiling, the youngster expressed his happiness and said, “I am very happy to join the senior team of SC Villa. It is every player’s dream to graduate to the senior team. And it is also a sign that the manager has confidence in me as a player.”
Gasikire, who has been training with the club as a reserve left-back, is expected to turn out for the Jogoos until June 2024.
He is a former student at St. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende (SMASK). During his heydays at Kitende, Gasikire was regarded higher in the school team’s pecking order ahead of Aziz Kayondo and Robert Kitabalwa but his progress hit a snag upon the completion of his UCE exams in 2017.
Gasikire is expected to provide healthy competition to the club’s left backs Derrick Ndahiro and Andrew Kiwanuka.
