Promising Ugandan female sprinter is happy with her progress, after impressing for Uganda by registering her season’s best at the World Athletics Continental Tour in Geneva on Saturday. Previously, she won a silver medal at the World University Games in Naples Italy where she clocked 51:64.

She alongside other sprinters are working hard to qualify  for this year’s Olympic games in Japan, and yesterday’s run was a good scale for her to test her level of readiness with a few months left until the August Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Leni clocked 51.81 to finish in sixth place and even though her time is still short of the Olympic qualification mark for the women’s 400m (51.35), she is happy with how far she has progressed. The Ugandan sprinter took to her Instagram page to celebrate her progress and posted, “Happy with my progress here in Geneva. A season’s best of 51.81 – still chasing the Olympic standard, getting closer.” In the same post, Leni promised herself to keep giving it everything as she fights for her dream
