Lira City Council FC has confirmed the signing of three players ahead of the second round of the season.
Daniel Ocen, Mondry Ocan and Junior Oula have joined the citizens after a successful trials at the club. The trio are the product of talent search spotted and scouted from Omer, a village located at the boarder of Apac and Kwania district.
The young enthusiastic lads had a month long trials at the Rhino Park, LCC FC home ground and the three among others impressed to earn a call into the club. They first featured against LCC FC in a friendly game for Omer FC during the pre season, a game they lost 2-0 to the Regional League side at Lango College playground.
The Lee Ager had a staggering first round performance that left many startled after an unbeaten run in the previous season. They finished the first half of the season stowed 3rd on the Rhino group log with just 16 points mustered in 9 outings, 11 points behind the table leaders Northern Gateway SC.
The Lira based side ended the first round with a 3 streak defeats, first of its kind in the club history as opposed to last season where they never lost a game except the play off against Young Elephant FC.
The new additions could boost up the squad as the opinion depth is improved. It'll also close the gap created by some LCC FC players who are students and get limited time with the squad, they mostly join the team either a day to or on match days with limited or no prior assessment done by the technical team.
Lira City Council FC kick starts the second round on the road with a visit to Apac based Bright Stars FC on Saturday 24th February 2024, a game that will be played at Apac Boma Ground at 3pm.
