It seemed like it wasnt shining for Sipi Trekkers who had gone down fighting in the first game of the tournament against Itanda Kayakers as they pulled off a 7 wicket win against Bujjagali Rafters.
Sipi Trekkers won the toss and didn’t hesitate to ask Bujjagali Rafters to bat first as they limited them to a small score which they chased with ease.
It was close to war for any Bujjagali Rafters Player to score a double figure with only a few turning up with the bat. Sarah Akiteng and Naomi Kayondo produced the highest score in the team with each having 16 runs off 20 balls and 13 runs off 28 balls respectively.
Phiona Kulume strongly led the bowling show with figures of 3/13 in four overs with the help of Sarah Walaza who picked two wickets to restrict Bujjagali Rafters to 82/9 in 20 overs.
Sipi Trekkers were more than ready to go for the win based on the strategy as the opening pair pulled off a 19 run partnership to open fresh doors for the incoming batters.
Kevin Awino and Gloria Obukor gave Sipi Trekkers a commanding start to their innings with each posting 12 runs off 20 balls and 28 runs off 32 balls respectively.
There was no panic after the fall of the opening partnership as Janet Mbabazi and Stephanie Nampiina were able to take full control of the game with each pulling off 16 runs off 13 balls and 21 runs off 12 balls respectively to earn Sipi Trekkers a 7 wicket win.
