A letter from the National Council of Sports to the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association confirmed the suspension of the league. The letter dated 3rd June 2021 pointed to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country as a cause for concern and therefore action.
FUBA will feel they did their best to follow the Standard Operating Procedures set by the ministry of health. The league was to a large extent played behind closed doors with games played outdoors.
There was regular testing and vaccination of the players against the virus.
The whole pandemic seemed under control until two COVID cases were reported in Power camp prior to their game against Nam Blazers. The game had to be postponed.
The league was halted at a point when the regular season was ending this Sunday. Five games scheduled for the weekend to end the regular season.

Betway power got their first win of the season against the Falcons in overtime. Power 77 -73 Falcons.
UPDF Tomahawks lost 64-65 to Ndejje University Angels.
