After ousting the two teams i.e. Vipers and Uganda Revenue Authority that have enjoyed the summit of the table for most part of the season, with a 4:0 win at Busoga United in Midweek, the Red Eagles of Kampala today hosted another relegation feverish side in Kitara FC at Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium (Kampala) in match Day 26 of the Uganda Premier League.

Goals from forward Eric Kambale and Arthur Bocca Kiggundu added more salt to the wound of almost relegated Kitara FC in Kampala Today. Eric Kambale opened the scoring for Express Football Club in the 8th minute to put his team 1:0 up, and his goal settled the nerves for his team who kept launching countless attacks on the helpless Kitara FC defensive backline.

In the 29th minute Arthur Bocca made it 2:0 for Express with almost 15 minutes remaining until the end of the first period. With Kitara Looking dismantled already, the Red Eagles then settled for a 2:0 score line going into halftime break.

In the second half, to ensure that Kitara FC didn’t pull any unexpected surprises in the game, Express goal predator Eric Kmabale scored the 3rd goal in the 64th minute to put the game away 3:0 from Kitara boys. With the Red Eagles very much in control of things in the second half still, it was only a matter of time before Eric Kamble would score another goal to end the day 4:0 in favor of his side Express Football Club.

Express Football Club established a four point lead at the summit after an easy 4-0 home win over relegated Kitara at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku Stadium on Friday.

With this victory, the Red Eagles moved to 58 points, 2 above Vipers football Club (56 points) who had a 1:0 win over Bright Stars.  Consequently for Kitara FC, this loss now almost confirmed their relegation to the regional level (third tier) with four matches to play as they needed to win almost all their remaining 6 matches to be able to stand any slight chance of survival.
