The Uganda Premier League returns with Vipers SC travelling to Kitara FC and URA at home to BUL FC. These two games come at a time when Vipers SC and URA FC are going neck to neck at the top of this year’s Uganda Super League title race.

Both teams will be back in action after winning their matches in the midweek fixtures. So the pressure is on with the title contenders separated only by goal difference at the summit of the table.

VipersSportsClub will travel away to play Kitara FC, who played and lost 2 : 1 to Onduparaka FC in midweek at the Greenlight stadium in Arua. The home team will look to utilize their home advantage to get something out of the game against Vipers SC. But with the form of the defending champion spurred by a tussle for top with rivals URA FC, it will be hard to see Kitatra FC pull much out of this one.

URA defeated KCCA 2 : 0 in the midweek fixture to keep at par with Vipers SC. The Tax Collectors superior goal difference is the only thing keeping them above the Venoms. They will be expecting that the league top scorer in Steven Mulwala will spur them against BUL FC at home. Sam Ssimbwa’s side need more than just luck this season if they are to win the Uganda Premier League trophy again after 10 years of playing second fiddle to both Vipers and KCCA.

They need to keep up the momentum in order to put up a good challenge for the defending champion. And a game at home against BUL FC is exactly what they need to do just that.

It remains to be seen though as to whichever team utilized their advantage well to keep up the pace at the summit of the table. Or rather which team will slip and let the advantage drop to the other.

Let us try our hands on predictions and call these games. Our predictor Parrot in the cage in the corridors of sports press tells us: URA FC will use the home advantage to easily pick a 2 : 0 win over BUL FC, while Vipers will draw all guns on their visit to Kitara FC and hammer out a 0 : 4 win.

Lets keep our eyes peeled for these ones. All games kick off at 4:00 pm
