Edward Golola, the former Vipers SC coach currently calling shots for Tooro United FC a Big League side, is open to a return to his former Club Vipers if called upon to take over.

Vipers SC are without a coach after their head coach Kajoba resigned. The team is under the stewardship of Paul Kiwanuka and are in the market for a new manager.

Golola had an impeccable record with the Venoms is one of those names Vipers might be interested in. Golola, who is branded as the most successful coach in Vipers history, was relieved of his job in January 2020 by the Venoms who then hired Kajoba to replace him. He is currently doing a great job with Big League side Tooro United who are on the brink of returning to the Uganda Premier League, as they are only one win away from sealing a direct promotion.

When asked about his desire to coach Vipers again, the tactician failed to rule out his intention to rejoin his old club, but he also clearly indicated that he was focused on helping his side gain promotion to the top tier, although he would love the chance to manage Vipers again.

He said, “For now, all my attention is on helping Tooro United gain promotion.” He was talking after his side’s goalless draw with Luwero United in game week 13 of the Big League.

A club like Vipers SC needs a manager with a character like Golola, for his footballing insight and technical ability was the reason Vipers were very successful under him in recent years. Vipers SC is currently under the interim management of Paul Kiwanuka after Kajoba resigned a couple of weeks ago and will soon be looking for a new manager. Golola and his side are now preparing for their last game in the Big League and a win in this last fixture will grant them a direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League for next season.
