After all contract negotiations failing to materialize, Vipers former vice captain Geoffrey Wasswa has decided to part ways with the Venoms and join former giants SC Villa on a short-term contract.
The Venoms were willing to extend the defender’s stay at Kitende but Wasswa opted to move on in search of green pastures. Wasswa made his debut for the club in 2018 in the Vipers’ 1-0 win against Bul FC.
The 22-year-old had a win ratio of 56.25, draw 34.38 and loss ratio of 9.38 in matches he has appeared for the Vipers.
He is expected to form a formidable partnership with Gavin Kizito Mugweri who was a pillar in defense for the national U-20 team that lost to Ghana in the AFCON final. Wasswa’s first assignment is to see Villa progress to the round of 16 in the Uganda cup after losing the 1st leg 1-0 to Ndejje University.
