With less than a week to kick off, CAF is yet to decide whether this year’s U-17 tournament will take place due to tight measures against the Covid 19 pandemic set by the Moroccan government.

The CAF emergency committee members were meant to meet Monday night to come up with the ultimate decision after only four teams out of twelve have so far landed in Morocco for the tournament which kicks off on 13th March 2021.

So far, Uganda, Zambia, Ivory Coast, and Senegal have arrived in Morocco ready to participate while Cameroon have failed to secure travel documents to Morocco on two occasions.

The committee will have to decide whether to postpone the tournament, find a different host or outright cancelation of the tournament.

It should be noted that the tournament was brought forward from April to March following Morocco’s request on grounds of observing Ramathan.
