UCU Lady Cardinals FC beaten by Lady Doves FC in their second outing of the Women Super League Tournament.

UCU Lady Cardinals FC had a good start of the tournament when they beat the She Corporates FC 1 : 0 yesterday courtesy of Shadia Nankya goal but today things didn’t go well for their side as they suffered their first loss of the Tournament against the Masindi based Lady Doves FC.

Rashida Nankya of Lady Doves FC gave a chance to UCU Lady Cardinals for an early lead when she hit Harriet Muwugumya in the face and a penalty awarded to the Cardinals in the 18th minute and successfully converted by the former Crested Cranes Skipper Hasifa Nassuna in the 19th minute.

In the 31st minute Lady Doves goal machine Fazila Ikwaput found the back of the net for an equalizer which resulted from poor communication among the UCU lady Cardinals FC’s defenders. The final whistle for the half time was blown when the game was still level.

In the 56th minute UCU Lady Cardinals brought in fresh legs when Jackie Nakasi replaced Teddy Najjuma, Lady Doves FC also made changes in the 62nd and 68th minute and Elizabeth Nakigozi replaced Olivia Babirye whereas Joweria Nagadya replaced Rashida Nankya.

In the 74th Minute Fazila Ikwaput of Lady Doves FC was brought down by Shadia Nankya and a penalty awarded and she successfully converted it to fire Lady Doves into a lead.

Fazila Ikwaput’s brace today maintained her on top of the scoreboard with 7 goals from 3 matches.

In another game played today Olila High School WFC beat Isra Soccer Academy 3 : 0 thanks to Grace Aluka’s brace in the 13th and 89th minute the first goal being scored from the spot and another goal coming from Aarakit Docus in the 26th minute.
