In the last game of the Semifinal encounter played today at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, UCU Lady Cardinals managed to progress through to the finals for this year’s Women super league after a narrow win against Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga WFC.

UCU Lady Cardinals FC had goalkeeper Ruth Aturo to thank when she denied Nagadya twice, including a one on one situation in the second half.

Jauharah Nabaggala scored the lone goal of the game when she struck from the rebound after goalkeeper Daphine Nyayenga had initially saved Sandra Kisakye’s attempt in the 15th minute of the game. By halftime Jauharah’s only goal was the difference.

Uganda Martyrs had several attempts in the second half but UCU Lady Cardinals had to hold onto their lead until the final whistle.

The game ended 1-0 and Jauhara’s lone goal saw UCU Lady Cardinals through to the finals to be played on Wednesday 5th May against the Masindi based Lady Doves FC at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru, 12:00pm. This will be a repeat of the 2018/2019 Final where UCU Lady Cardinals won.

The other game will be Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC taking on Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga WFC at 9:00am for the third place.

Lady Doves FC’S attacker Fazila Ikwaput is still the leading scorer with 7 goals.
