Uganda premier league side Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) have confirmed the departure of striker Derrick Nsibambi to Albashaer Club in Oman.
“We would like to announce the departure of forward Derrick Nsibambi to Albashaer Club of Oman on mutual consent.”
“We thank him for the time he has been with us and we wish him the best in his endeavors.” Read URA FC club statement.
Nsibambi returned to Uganda at the start of 2022/23 season signing for the tax collectors a one year contract as a free agent after his contract at Ethiopian side Sebeta Kenema City Fc had run down.
His arrival at the club was a direct replacement of Steven Desse Mukwala who had left the club to Asante Kotoko Fc in Ghana.
His short spell at URA FC, Nsibambi scored two goals from eight league matches which came against Busoga United and former employee KCCA FC.
Nsibambi’s new home Albashaer Club sit 12th on the table with eight points after thirteen matches in the Oman league.
URA FC have reacted in time to replace Nsibambi with the signing of current league top scorer Fred Amaku from Maroons Fc.
Amaku who guided Maroons to top flight last season has scored seven goals from fourteen matches played sofar in first round.
The 2022 University Football League top scorer Bruno Bunyaga is another new January signing at Sam Timbe’s coached side (URA FC).
Bungaya notched twelve goals in ten games for St Lawrence University and was named the most valuable player.
The two join Dada Ibrahim, Vianne Ssekajugo, Ssenkaba George and Kabon Living on URA FC striking line.
URA FC finished 11th at the end of first round with 14 points after 14 games, won 2, drawn 8 and lost 4.
As the league returns, URA FC will travel to Arua city where they play Onduparaka Fc on 11th of February 2023.
